Perspectives & Paper: An Art & Inclusion Workshop Series

Our Art and Inclusion Series explores artistic creativity alongside topics of inclusion. These sessions are designed to leave you feeling both relaxed and energised  through weaving together artistic practice with themes of identity and inclusive perspectives.

This is a space for everyone, whether you have never picked up a pencil since school or you draw every day.

Research tells us that creative engagement has real, measurable wellbeing benefits. It reduces stress, builds connection, and helps us process experiences in ways that words alone cannot reach.

This is not an art class. It is a space to explore art and new perspectives in community leaving you feeling refreshed and energised.

🎨 The Analogue In-Person Studio Session (Tokyo)

Experience the power of physical collaboration in an intimate studio setting. We will engage in a democratic, collaborative still-life drawing activity to co-create a multi-perspective artwork

Date: Friday Jul 17th, 2026
Time: 3-5pm OR 7-9pm (This ticket is for afternoon 3pm-5pm session)
Location: @Atelier Shinkai
Capacity: Strictly limited to 6 participants for an intimate experience
Investment: ¥3,000 (Includes all art materials, plus celebratory drinks and snacks!)

What to Expect
No prior art or sketching experience required—just bring an open mind!

Unplug from the daily grind and dive into a unique, hands-on creative workshop where art meets fresh perspectives. Here is how we’ll spend our time together:

A Gentle Grounding: We’ll kick off with a quick nervous system reset to help you leave the day’s stress at the door and settle into a relaxed creative space.

Art History, Reimagined: Enjoy a light, open chat about the history of Still Life—from the old Dutch Masters to modern boundary-pushers. We’ll explore how this classic style can actually be a fun tool for looking at the world through a more inclusive lens.

The 20-Minute Shake-Up: Grab a pencil for a fast-paced personal sketching practice. You’ll challenge your brain to see things differently by drawing the same setup in unexpected ways—using your non-dominant hand, drawing from memory, and capturing negative space.

The Collective Masterpiece: Experience the power of collaboration. We’ll pass our canvases around the table, building on each other’s lines to create a shared, inclusive piece of art.

Reflect & Connect: We’ll wrap up the session over snacks, and casual, friendly conversation about what we discovered during the night.
Leave feeling refreshed, creatively energized, and connected to a room full of interesting people.

Note for the In-Person Session: No prior art or drawing experience is required! Just bring your curiosity. All materials, drinks, and light snacks are covered in your ticket.
