#IAmRemarkable X IWD
I recently delivered my 21st probono #IAmRemarkable workshop reaching 178 participants. As one of the key takeaways of the 90 minute workshop is “It’s not bragging if it is based on facts” I don’t hesitate to share this achievement. In 2026 I will offer an other 3 Open online workshops for free as well as repeating my offer for 4 corporate clients, NGO/NPO or community groups to experience the workshop for free. #IAmRemarkable is aiming to reach 1 million people and I’d love to continue to be a part of that. Contact me to find out more or follow me on socials for info about future open events.
I will share more about what #IAmRemarkable is below but if you have been following for a while you already know so let me share my takeaways and the unique points from this particular group. Even after over 20 deliveries, I am still learning new things!
1. People often struggle to update their perception of others who have upskilled or changed roles.
There can be a lag between our current identity and achievements and what others recognise us for. This can also be an internal lag. I realised that there have been some times when I did not believe my own identity label e.g. Coach, artist—and sometimes I still have to do a double take when someone introduces me as such: "This is Jennifer, she is an artist." But I realise there was a point when I changed and accepted my coach identity and the artist one is on the way.
2. How can we unhook the importance of recognizing achievements from external validation?
Are we sharing to hear a good job or get a pat on the back? I wonder if it might be bit of that need for recognition that triggers the bragging reflex!?
#IAmRemarkable focuses on 3 main benefits for sharing accomplishments: 1. personal well being 2. inspiring others 3. career progression as the work does not speak for itself - none of them are about receiving praise or validation
3. Re-evaluating achievements from an outsider's perspective.
This helps us to appreciate our own contributions, "Not everyone can do that. Not everyone has done that. "
Not bragging if it is based on facts #IAmRemarkable
